By now you probably know what Affiliate Marketing is but here's my definition: An Affiliate Marketer is someone who generates traffic to a website in order to increase sales on the site. The grateful website owner then pays the affiliate marketer a fee or commission in return for this service. These are the steps used by the successful Affiliate Marketer:
Step 1: Find an affiliate website selling a product or service that you would like to promote. There are literally 100's of thousands of websites out there with affiliate programs. All you need to do is sign up with them to get your own unique Affiliate Link Code. This is very important because this is how you get paid.
Step 2: Here you have two choices. You can either create a website of your own to "pre-sell" the product before linking to your affiliate's website. Or you can use techniques such as Article Marketing, PPC (Pay Per Click), eMail marketing, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and others to provide your Affiliate Link Code to potential customers.
Step 3: Write short articles about the product or service you are trying to promote and publish them on any of the FREE article directories online (eZineArticles.com, GoArticles.com, Buzzle.com, Streetarticles.com, etc.). An article directory allows you to publish articles online for FREE. These articles will be found by web browsers (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) when people search for keywords that pertain to you product.
People will read your article and follow your affiliate link (which you include either in the article or in the author bio) to the website you're promoting.
Step 4: When someone makes a purchase after following your link to the website, You Get Paid! It's really that simple.
