Here's how affiliate marketing works. You build a website (you don't need ANY technical skills with the right tools) and on this website you promote an "Affiliate Product". There are over 100,000 affiliate products available and you can sell anything you like from books to fitness equipment.
When you sign up to promote an affiliate product, you receive an "Affiliate Link". When people click on your unique affiliate link, they'll be sent to the sales page of the product. When they make a purchase, you'll earn a "commission". Some products offer up to 75% commission on every sale you make!
However, you're not going to make any sales if people don't visit your website. So how do you get people to go to your website? The best way is to write articles (much like this article). These articles must contain genuine information. Do research if you have to.
Affiliate marketing doesn't require you to have a marketing degree, you don't need any technical skills and you don't even have to be all that smart! You're probably even smarter than the top affiliate marketers out there.
One thing affiliate marketing does require is for you to put some time and effort in. I'm not saying you have to slave over it night and day, but an hour or two is necessary if you want to make any kind of decent income.
So that's the basics of affiliate marketing for you. All you really need to make money at home is a website, promoting an affiliate product, and people to visit your website and buy your product.
