Where we place a keyword and how many times we use it in an article is one of the ways to Optimize your article for the search engines to be able to find it quickly. There are lots of guides etc. telling this density is better than another one for one reason or another. It is probably really true that each of us as webmasters will have to figure out which density is best for our articles and other content.

* Over Optimization? Is there such a thing as over optimization? You have to know that there is such a thing, called keyword stuffing. The thing is that when you stick a keyword in an article too often, the search engine spiders will detect this and regard it as a trick to get your article high in the search engines. When this happens it will penalize both your site and the page for doing such thing. Some times this even effects the rank of your other pages.

All things considered it seems that keywords are very important. If it does or if It doesn't matter about density the one thing everyone seems to agree on is that you should always have more keywords at the beginning and at the end, like an hour glass effect. By being very alerted to where you put these keywords, it is more likely that your article and blog or site will come up in the search engines pretty quick.
